Kasargod : Habitual thief wanted in over 25 cases arrested

Kasargod, May 8, 2014:  Kumble police have been successful in arresting a person wanted in connection with several theft cases. The arrested man is Ukkas Basheer (40). 

It is learnt, he who was undergoing punishment for a theft case was released just in May and is now once again arrested.

Sources say he had committed as many as four thefts after his release. He was arrested at Moodbidri. It is learnt, he has over 25 cases against him.

It is said police could gather information about Basheer from one Jamya Moidu who was earlier arrested at Badiadka in connection with a case of attempting to sell a land using forged documents..

Ukkas Basheer had committed several thefts in houses and was also wanted in  connection with the burglary at Talangere Taravadu Temple.

 Police have produced Ukkas Basheer before the court which has remanded him to judicial custody. Meanwhile, police are planning to seek his police custody.
