
Kasargod, Dec 12, 2013: A tragic accident reported from the National Highway at Bandiyod Mallangai late night on December 10, Tuesday, claimed the lives of three young men who were riding a bike.

The deceased are Irshad, Altaf and Raishad, all 19 years of age. They hailed from Kayyaru Merkala. The mishap took place when the three were returning from the Expo Fest at Uppala Naya Bazar.Their bike first collided against another bike coming from the opposite direction. The three, it is learnt fell on the road when a speeding lorry heading towards Kasargod from Mangalore ran over them killing them instantly.
A couple who were riding the other bike along with their child sustained injuries in the mishap. They are Mohamed Kasim (38) from Uppala, his wife Nilofer (29) and daughter.
The accident left traffic in total disarray on the route for hours together. Of the deceased, Altaf worked in a hotel at Tiruvananthapuram, while Raishad was a labourer. The three were said to be close friends. The bike which they were riding was a Fashion Pro Bike which they had taken on hire.
