The raid was carried out following repeated public complaints alleging that no work was being processed at the Kasaragod RTO without the involvement of middlemen or the payment of bribes.

During the operation, vigilance officials seized several applications related to vehicles, petitions submitted through agents along with money, and important documents that were meant to be delivered to eligible citizens.

Acting on allegations that office staff and agents were harassing the public for bribes and that services were being facilitated only through intermediaries, vigilance teams conducted simultaneous raids at the Kasaragod and Kanhangad RTO offices. Several vehicle-related documents and applications were also seized from the Kanhangad office.
