Kasaragod: Sridhanya Suresh appointed new District Collector

Kasaragod, Sep 12, 2026: Sridhanya Suresh, Kerala’s first tribal woman IAS officer from the Kurichya community of Wayanad, has been appointed as the new District Collector of Kasaragod.

The Kerala government issued an order appointing Sridhanya Suresh as Kasaragod District Collector. The incumbent Collector, Arjun Pandian, has been transferred and appointed Director of Agriculture.

Sridhanya, who was serving as Additional Director of the Tourism Department, will now take charge of the administration of Kasaragod, a strategically important border district.

Hailing from the Kurichya tribal community in Wayanad, one of Kerala’s most backward districts, Sridhanya created history by becoming the first woman from the community to clear the country’s prestigious Civil Services Examination and enter the IAS.
