Kasaragod: Scooter-car collision claims life of BJP worker in Kumbla

Kasaragod, Nov 4, 2025: A scooter-car collision claimed the life of a rider near Peruvad on the National Highway at Kumble around 11 p.m. on Monday.

The deceased has been identified as N. Harish Kumar (37), a resident of Arikkadi Paresthan. The passengers in the car sustained injuries and were admitted to a hospital in Kasaragod.

Harish Kumar, who was a BJP worker, succumbed to his injuries despite being rushed to the Kumble hospital. The accident occurred when the scooter was heading from Kasaragod towards Kumble and the car was traveling in the opposite direction.

The impact caused the car to lose control and overturn on the roadside. The accident disrupted traffic on the highway for over two hours due to an oil leak from the car’s tank. Fire and rescue personnel later cleared the scene and restored smooth movement.

Meanwhile, BJP workers held a protest outside the Kumble District Cooperative Hospital, alleging medical negligence and claiming that Harish Kumar died due to lack of timely treatment.
