Kasaragod: POCSO case registered after minor girl alleges sexual assault inside car

Kumbla, Oct 6, 2026: Kumbla police have registered a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act against Ahmed Afsal, a resident within the Kasaragod Town Police Station limits, following a complaint that a 16-year-old girl was allegedly sexually assaulted inside a car at an isolated location near Kumbla railway station.

According to the complaint, the girl had reportedly become acquainted with the accused through social media.

Police have launched an investigation and are taking steps to trace the accused.
