
Kasaragod, September 5, 2026: A 42-year-old man from Karnataka was found dead under suspicious circumstances at a quarters in Hosangadi near Manjeshwar on Friday night, with police suspecting murder.
The deceased has been identified as Ramesh. His body was found inside an old house belonging to Narasimha Murthy at Hosangadi, with severe injuries to his head.
According to preliminary investigation, an altercation during a drinking session may have led to the death. Police suspect that Ramesh was murdered.
Other workers who returned to the quarters after completing their day’s work found Ramesh lying in a pool of blood and alerted the police. He was reportedly not a permanent resident of the quarters.
Locals allegedly saw two persons fleeing the scene following the incident. Manjeshwar police have launched a search to trace them.
Police said the exact cause of death will be established after the inquest and post-mortem examination.
