Kasaragod: Elderly man dies by suicide after shooting himself

Kasaragod, Sep 6, 2025: An 86-year-old man died by suicide after shooting himself at his residence in Meeyapadavu, Madangallu under the Manjeshwar police station limits.

The deceased has been identified as Subraya Bhat (86) of Madangallu.

The incident occurred on Friday afternoon at his house. Preliminary police reports suggest that he took the extreme step due to mental health issues.

Subraya Bhat was living with his wife Rajamma. Manjeshwar police visited the spot and conducted an inquest. The body was shifted to Kannur Government Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
