Kasaragod: Class 10 student commits suicide by hanging at home

Kasaragod, Sep 16, 2025: A 10th-grade student was found dead by suicide, hanging inside her home, in Bandadka.

The deceased is Devika (15), daughter of Savita from Ungathadka, Bandadka. She was a student at Kundanguli Higher Secondary School.

The funeral rites were held on Tuesday, coinciding with the death anniversary of Devika’s father, Satish. The incident took place in the morning when only her grandmother and brother were at home. Devika’s mother, Savita, runs a hotel near the Bandadka Gramin Bank.

When Devika went missing in the morning, her brother searched for her and found her hanging by a saree. Devika was a member of the Bala Sangha children’s group.

Bandadka police conducted an investigation, and forensic experts arrived at the scene to collect evidence.
