Bengaluru, July 11, 2025: In a major step towards strengthening public education and aiding economically disadvantaged students, the Congress-led Karnataka government has launched a new initiative to provide free bus transportation for students in government schools from LKG to PUC.
Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar announced the initiative on his official X (formerly Twitter) account, stating that free bus services will be introduced for students studying in Karnataka Public Schools (KPS) across the state. He highlighted that the move aims to improve attendance, boost the quality of education, and promote government-run schools.
Shivakumar described the initiative as a significant effort to remove transportation barriers for students, ensuring they have better access to education.
The scheme is expected to benefit thousands of students, especially those from underprivileged communities, making education more inclusive and accessible across Karnataka.
