Bengaluru, July 8, 2025: Karnataka Home Minister Dr G Parameshwara has announced that more than 200 illegal Bangladeshi migrants have been deported from the state in recent months.

Addressing the media, Dr Parameshwara said several complaints had been received, particularly against migrants working in the construction sector. In response, the state government has taken swift action to identify and deport those residing illegally, with the process still underway.

He explained that regional registration office officials are responsible for identifying illegal migrants and alerting the police. “We are closely monitoring construction workers. If found to be illegal immigrants, they are deported,” he stated.

Refuting allegations that the government is soft on illegal migration, Dr Parameshwara strongly denied claims that the Congress party uses such migrants as a vote bank. “The party has never relied on illegal immigrants for electoral advantage and never will,” he affirmed.
