Mangaluru, Jun 25, 2026: The Karnataka government, led by Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, has assigned district in-charge responsibilities to ministers in the newly constituted cabinet. Minister U.T. Khader has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing four districts.
The district-wise allocation is as follows:
U. T. Khader Fareed – Udupi, Kodagu, Dakshina Kannada and Uttara Kannada
Dr G. Parameshwara – Tumakuru and Chitradurga
K. H. Muniyappa – Bengaluru Rural, Ballari and Vijayanagara
Ramalinga Reddy – Bengaluru South and Mandya
M. B. Patil – Vijayapura and Bagalkote
K. J. George – Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru and Davanagere
Krishna Byre Gowda – Bengaluru Urban and Hassan
Eshwar Khandre – Bidar and Gadag
Satish Jarkiholi – Belagavi, Dharwad and Haveri
Priyank Kharge – Kalaburagi and Yadgir
Dr Sharanaprakash Rudrappa Patil – Raichur and Koppal
Byrathi Suresh – Kolar and Chikkaballapur
Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah – Mysuru and Chamarajanagar
The government said the appointed ministers will closely coordinate with district authorities, assess the impact of heavy rainfall and flooding wherever necessary, and ensure that relief measures reach affected people without delay.
As the expansion of the state cabinet has been delayed, the government has temporarily distributed district in-charge portfolios among the existing ministers. At present, each minister has been assigned responsibility for two to three districts. These allocations are likely to be revised once the cabinet expansion takes place.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar has taken this significant step to streamline the state’s administrative machinery, accelerate development works at the district level, and ensure better coordination with district administrations, particularly during natural disasters and emergencies.
