Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy organizes interactive session

Mangalore, Jan 8, 2012: The Karnataka Tulu Sahitya Academy organized an interactive session for writers, scholars, academicians and registrars of the academy. 


The participants shared experiences and discussed its future. Ever since its birth 17 years back, the academy has worked to promote Tulu language, literature, and culture, has published Tulu books, and has held Tulu programs, enhancing the popularity of the language.

President Umanath Kotian said that the academy has seen a number of registrars with different visions and plans, but many of them couldn’t execute their plans during their tenure. He urged the old members of the academy to suggest ways in which these dreams can be realized. 


The 56th edition of Mudipu, the academy’s quarterly, was released by Rathna Kumar M., the former editor of Navabharat Daily and Tulu Koota. A calendar for 2012 called Tulunada Panchanga was also released. 


S. H. Shivarudrappa, Ramachandra Achar, Seetharam Kulal, and Dr. Vaman Nandavar were among the dignitaries present.
