Bengaluru, Jan 24, 2026: The Karnataka government will now award SSLC toppers with cash prizes instead of laptops. Under the new directive, the top three SSLC students from each district will receive Rs 50,000 each, credited directly to their bank accounts via Direct Benefit Transfer.
For the 2024-25 academic year, 758 students are eligible for the award through the State Scholarship Portal (SSP). The funds will be transferred to accounts linked with the students’ Aadhaar numbers. The government has allocated around Rs 3.25 crore for this scheme under the ‘Quality Assurance and Student Motivation Initiative’.
