Karnataka CM to hold public meetings in Udupi, Shivamogga, Chikkamagaluru over Kasturirangan report

Mangaluru, Sep 14, 2026: Karnataka Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar, who will chair the Cabinet meeting in Mangaluru on September 18, will hold public meetings in Udupi, Shivamogga and Chikkamagaluru districts on September 18 and 19 to hear the concerns of people living in areas that could be affected by the implementation of the Kasturirangan Committee report.

According to the Chief Minister’s itinerary, Shivakumar will chair the Cabinet meeting at the DC Office complex, Praja Soudha, in Mangaluru from 10 am on September 18.

He will then travel by helicopter to Hebri in Udupi district, where he will hold a public meeting at 3 pm.

On September 19, the Chief Minister will travel by helicopter to Thirthahalli in Shivamogga district and hold a meeting at 10 am. He will later proceed to Balehonnur in Chikkamagaluru district to attend a public meeting at 1 pm.

The meetings are aimed at hearing the views and concerns of residents in areas that may be affected by the recommendations of the Kasturirangan Committee on the conservation of the Western Ghats.
