Karkala: Young man dies after falling from electric pole

Karkala, Jan 15, 2026: A tragic incident occurred on Wednesday evening at Mudralu Cross in Bajagoli, where a worker accidentally fell to the ground and died while installing a large electric pole.

The young man had climbed an 11-meter-high electric pole when, during rainfall and a lightning strike, he fell and lost his life.

He was working with a contractor at the time. The deceased has been identified as a native of Assam. The incident took place under the jurisdiction of Karkala Rural Police Station.
