Karkala: Three arrested for threatening woman and stealing cattle in Shirlalu

Karkala, Oct 7, 2025: Ajekar police have arrested three men for allegedly threatening a woman with deadly weapons and stealing three cattle from her shed in Shirlalu village.

The arrested have been identified as Mohammad Younis alias Younis (31) of Borkatte, Mohammad Naseer alias Naseer (28) of Kallabettu, Moodbidri, and Mohammad Iqbal alias Ikku (29) of Handele, Moodbidri.


Cattle thieves


According to police, on September 28, the accused entered the cattle shed of Jayashree, a resident of Shirlalu, threatened her with weapons, and stole three cows worth about ₹35,000. Based on her complaint, a case was registered at the Ajekar police station under the Indian Arms Act and the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act.

Police recovered property worth ₹5.87 lakh from the accused, including two swords used in the crime, a Swift car, a Mahindra Bolero, and five mobile phones used during the theft.

The investigation was conducted under the supervision of Karkala Sub-Division Assistant Superintendent of Police Dr. Harsha Priyamvada. The investigation team was led by PSI Manjappa D. R. of Ajekar Police Station, with the support of PSI Mahesh T. M., and staff members Satish Belle, Pradeep Shetty, Moorthy K (Hebri), Sujeeth Kumar (Hebri), Mahantesh (Karkala Rural), and Vishwanath and Shashikumar from the office of the Karkala Circle Inspector.
