Karkala: Student arrested for obscene, communally provocative graffiti in hostel washroom

Karkala, July 15, 2025: A college student has been arrested for allegedly writing obscene and communally provocative words on the wall of a hostel Washroom with the intent to incite communal hatred.

The arrested student has been identified as Fatima Shabna (21), a college student.

The incident reportedly occurred on May 7, 2025, around 6 PM, when some students noticed the offensive and provocative words written on the wall of a Washroom
 in the first phase of the hostel. Following this, the warden of the women’s hostel lodged a complaint at the Karkala Rural Police Station.

Based on the complaint, a case was registered. After a thorough investigation, the Karkala Rural Police arrested the accused on July 14.

She was produced before the Karkala court on the same day.
