Karkala : One dead in clash between two TN lorry drivers

Karkala, Jan 31, 2023: A clash between two lorry drivers of Tamil Nadu origin resulted in the murder of one of them at Mudralu in Karkala taluk on January 30, Monday night.

 

The deceased is Mani (36). The accused has been identified as Veerabahu. The Sridevi Cashew factory at Mudralu in Mudaru village used to receive cashew stock from Tamil Nadu every year and the lorry drivers would unload the same and return. On January 30 too lorries had arrived from Tamil Nadu. However as two lorries had arrived late, their loads were not unloaded on time and the drivers and alternate drivers were in the lorry.

At around 8.30 pm,  Veerabahu and Mani entered into a quarrel when Veerabahu reportedly strangled Mani with a shawl and then inflicted him serious injuries with a sharp weapon resulting in the latter’s death.

The reason behind the quarrel is not known. Karkala Rural Police have registered a case.
