Karkala: Man dies after accidentally falling into well

Karkala, Oct 27, 2025: A man died after accidentally falling into a well on Sunday at Santakatte, Moolki in the 38th Kalthoor village of Hebri.

The deceased has been identified as Babu Naik (55) of Santakatte. He was a daily wage worker and used to offer prayers regularly at the Katte Ammanavara Temple near his house.

On Sunday, due to a power outage, he went to fetch water from the well in front of his house. It is suspected that he accidentally slipped and fell into the well, leading to his death by drowning.

A case has been registered at the Hebri Police Station.
