Karkala MLA Sunil Kumar targeted in provocative video; one arrested

Karkala, Sep 14, 2026: Karkala police have arrested a man for allegedly posting a provocative video targeting Karkala MLA V. Sunil Kumar on social media and using abusive language against him.

The arrested person has been identified as Prasad Shetty.

According to the complaint filed by Vighesh Prasad Rao, the accused allegedly created and posted a provocative video intended to incite the public, including remarks suggesting that MLA Sunil Kumar should be killed, along with abusive language.

Based on the complaint, Karkala Rural police registered a case and arrested Prasad Shetty.

Police said the accused will be produced before the court for further legal proceedings.
