Kapu: Pedestrian dies in bike collision, two riders critically injured

Kapu, Aug 11, 2025: A pedestrian died on the spot and two bike riders sustained critical injuries after a speeding motorcycle heading from Mangaluru towards Udupi hit him at Uchila on Saturday night.

The deceased has been identified as Shankar Shetty. The injured, identified as Natasha and Darshan Raj, are students of a private college in Mangaluru.

With the help of the Uchila and Muloor SDPI ambulance team — including Jalaluddin Jallu, K M Siraj, Hameed Ambulance, Hanif Muloor, Asif Muloor, and Kalandar Muloor — the injured were rushed to a private hospital. Sources said their condition remains critical.

Padubidri police visited the spot and conducted an inspection.
