Kapu: One killed, two seriously injured as lorry rams car on NH 66

Kapu, April 17, 2026: One person was killed and two others were seriously injured in a gruesome road accident that occurred on the Mangaluru–Udupi National Highway near Pangala Kattikere on Friday.

The accident took place within the limits of Kapu Police Station when a lorry collided with a car that was travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi. The impact of the collision completely crushed the car.

One of the occupants of the car died on the spot, while the two injured were rushed to a nearby hospital by locals and police.

Upon receiving information, Kapu police personnel reached the spot and inspected the scene. An investigation has been launched to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
