Kapu: Motorcyclist killed as bike crashes into bridge

Kapu, January 2, 2026: A motorcyclist was killed on the spot after his bike crashed into a bridge on National Highway 66 at Udyavar in Kapu on Friday around 2.30 am.

The deceased has been identified as Yuvraj of Subrahmanya. The motorcycle, which was travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi, reportedly lost control due to overspeeding and rash riding and rammed into the bridge. Yuvraj was thrown onto the road and sustained severe injuries, leading to his death at the spot.

Police rushed to the scene and conducted an inspection. The body was later shifted to the mortuary of Ajjarakadu Hospital in an SDPI ambulance from Uchila by KM Siraj and Jalaluddin.
