Kadaba: Man arrested for alleged murder over firewood dispute in Nelyadi

Kadaba, May 12, 2025: Uppinangady police on Sunday arrested Hariprasad, who had been on the run in connection with the murder of 34-year-old Sharath Kumar from Maderi in Nelyadi village.

Sharath was allegedly beaten to death with a wooden plank on Friday night.

The incident is believed to have arisen from a dispute over firewood that Sharath had collected along with his uncle’s family, which Hariprasad reportedly destroyed. The confrontation escalated, resulting in the fatal attack.

Police have registered a case and taken Hariprasad into custody for further investigation.
