Kadaba: Fierce storm wreaks havoc in Savanoor, arecanut plantations, power lines damaged

Kadaba, Aug 19, 2025: A powerful storm that hit Savanoor and nearby areas of Kadaba taluk around 5 am on August 19 caused widespread destruction, resulting in losses worth several lakhs of rupees.

 

 

 

 

In the MESCOM sub-division of Savanoor village, places such as Kedenji, Areltadi, Kudmanamajalu Patte Madake, and Anyadi in Kudmaru village witnessed uprooted trees and damaged electricity poles, leading to power outages.

 

 

The storm also caused significant damage in Areltadi Koragajja Katte and its temple premises, impacting several houses, arecanut plantations, coconut trees, and other properties. The estimated loss is said to be in lacs.
