Uppinangady, December 7, 2024: An incident wherein a KSRTC bus driver suffered chest pain while driving the bus took place near Kadaba on Friday. Meanwhile, the conductor of the bus played a Good Samaritan by driving the bus towards Uppinangady bus stand and admitting the driver to a nearby Community Health Centre. The driver was later shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru by ambulance.
The bus belonging to the Mangaluru depot of KSRTC was on way to Mangaluru from Subrahmanya when he slowed down the bus all of a sudden near Athur. The conductor Vishnu who grew suspicious enquired with the driver Ganapathi and soon realized that he was unwell. The bus was immediately stopped and the driver was shifted to a seat in the bus. The conductor then drove the bus towards Uppinangady bus stand and then admitted to the driver to the hospital.
The bus had around 30 passengers and all of them applauded the presence of mind of the conductor.
