KS Hegde Hospital organizes Walkathon to mark World Heart Day

Mangalore, Sep 29, 2013: A Walkathon to mark World Heart Day was organised by the KS Hegde Charitable Hospital  September 29, Sunday. Hundreds took part in the walkathon held from Pumpwell Circle to IMA Hall, Hampankatta. State Health Minister UT Khader flagged off the Walkathon.

 

 

 

 

Nitte University Dean Dr Shantharam Shetty, Mangalore City Corporation Commissioner Ajith Kumar and others took part.

Speaking on the occasion, the health minister called upon people to maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent heart ailments. Regular exercise and jogging will help the heart, he said. On this occasion, the minister said  steps would be taken to arrange for free heart check-up at primary health centres once a year for all those above three years of age.
