KMC Mangalore bags first place in Compos Mentis 2010

Mangalore, September 29: A KMC Mangalore team won the Compos Mentis 2010, a national-level inter-medic forensic medicine quiz organized on Saturday by the department of forensic medicine, KMC Manipal. The team comprised Hemanth Kumar and Surakshith T. K.


The above-mentioned quiz is the only of its kind in India. The second and third prizes were bagged by Government Medical College and Fr. Muller’s Medical College. A total of 59 teams from all over the country participated in this quiz.


Pro Chancellor of Manipal University Dr. H. S. Ballal inaugurated the event and spoke of the benefits of conducting such events. He said that it will create interest in forensic medicine, which has few takers at present.


Vice Chancellor of Manipal University Dr. K. Ramnarayan was the chief guest of the event. Mr. Purushottam Shetty of Ujwal Developers and Dean of KMC Manipal Dr. Shripathi Rao were the guests of honour.


Head of the Forensic Medicine Department Dr. Pradeep Kumar G. delivered the welcome address. Dr. Prashanth Bhagavath, the assistant professor of forensic medicine, proposed the vote of thanks.
