Mangalore, Sep 24, 2013: Suresh Bhat Bakrabail, District President of Karnataka Komu Souharda Vedike opposes the programme ‘Khadga Diksha’ to be organized by All India Hindu Mahasabha on October 25.
Speaking at the press meet held at Hotel Woodlands on September 24, Tuesday, he said that through such programmes, one cannot take law into his own hands, in the name of protecting Nation, Women and Cow.

He criticized the announcement made on September 15 by Swami Pranavananda, state executive president of the All India Hindu Mahasabha to distribute swords to 5000 young men in Mangalore on October 25 as a part of programme, which is an unlawful act.
He also said that the Mahasabha will hold state wide programme Khadga Diksha next month, in which the youth from several organizations will pledge to protect the Hindu Dharma, women and cows holding a sword in their hands. He also said that possession of lethal weapons for holy or unholy purposes by individuals or groups is forbidden by the law of the land.
General elections due in 2014, this shows that the political parties are looking forward to increase their votes through such programmes. The Ministry of Home Affairs has recently issued a circular to all states warning them of the possibility of communal riots in the near future.
The DK District which is already notorious for its unending series of communal incidents which have tarnished its image both nationally and internationally, is likely to create more tension in such situation, hence the government and the concerned department must protect the interests of minorities and take legal action against organizers for implementing such unlawful events, he said.
P B D’Sa, M. A.G Hasan, Choodamani N Bangera, Aboobakar, Mohammed Kakkinje, Nisil Periera, Walter Maben and Kabir Ullal were present.
