KCCI holds informal meet to discuss Global Investors’ Meet

Mangalore, Apr 5, 2012: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) on April 5 Thursday organized an information meeting to discuss investment options related to the Global Investors’ Meet, which is scheduled to be held on June 7 – 8, 2012. 


Dr. D. S.Vishwanath, the managing director of KSSIDC Limited, said that the Global Investors’ Meet will focus exclusively on facilitating investors and encouraging local entrepreneurs. Four major areas such as manufacturing, marketing, networking, and research and development will have to be addressed while considering opportunities for entrepreneurs and networkers, he said, adding that Mangalore is one of the six places identified for investment in the Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprisers (MSME) sector.

He also stated that small scale industries are playing a major role and this should be taken advantage of while dealing with investment. He also stated that the green category of industrial investment ought to be encouraged.  


Udyoga Mithra of the Government of Karnataka and Aravind Apparels signed an expression of interest (EoI) for a project worth Rs. 50 crore. 


S. G. Hegde, the joint director of District Industries Centre; Byre Gowda of Karnataka Udyoga Mitra; Latha R. Kini, the president of KCCI; Ram Mohan Pai Maroor, the secretary of KCCI; M. Ganesh Bhat, the treasurer of KCCI; and many others were also present.
