KCCI felicitates Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade on becoming a Rajya Sabha MP

Mangaluru, Nov 08, 2022:  The city based Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) led by its President, M. Ganesh Kamath, office bearers, and board of directors, felicitated Dr. D. Veerendra Heggade on being nominated as a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha, on Monday, November 7, 2022, at his residential office at Shree Kshetra Dharmasthala.

The delegation also submitted a memorandum to Dr. Heggade, soliciting his intervention to complete the four-laning of National Highway 75 and strengthen NH 275. They urged him to take up the matter with the Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways in order to ensure faster execution of projects, thus enabling seamless connectivity, according to a media release issued by KCCI.

The KCCI President, M. Ganesh Kamath, further appraised Dr. Heggade about the losses incurred by the business community due to the closure of Shiradi Ghat during the monsoon, which led to the diversion of the cargo carrying heavy vehicles to other routes, escalating the logistical costs of both domestic and EXIM trade. Dr. Heggade assured the delegates that he would discuss this matter with the ministry during his visit to New Delhi this week and press for the early execution of the respective projects.
