Kundapur, Aug 24, 2012: K. S. Eshwarappa, deputy chief minister of Karnataka, visited Kollur Mookambika Temple on August 24, Friday with his wife Vijayalaxmi and son Kanthesh.
A large number of police officers were deployed at the temple on the morning of Friday. The minister spent about one hour offering prayers at the temple.
He was accompanied by Byndoor MLA K. Laxmi Narayan, TP President Shankar Shetty Belladi, Kundapur Municipality President Mohandas Shenoy, and others.
He told reporters that there is nothing political about his visit and that he is just offering pujas for state welfare. Stating that Chandika Homa can bring about a lot of good in the drought-ridden state, he said that he has complete faith in Goddess Mookambika.
