K.J. George Inspects Tannirbhavi Blue Flag Beach, Reviews Coastal Tourism Plans

Mangaluru, Sep 6, 2026: Energy and Tourism Minister K.J. George visited and inspected Tannirbhavi Blue Flag Beach in Mangaluru on Sunday as part of efforts to strengthen tourism infrastructure along Karnataka’s coast.

George said the state government is giving special attention to developing coastal tourism and taking it to the highest level. The government is focusing on areas including cruise tourism, water sports, easing Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) regulations and improving tourism infrastructure.

He said a detailed meeting with Tourism Department officials and key stakeholders had been held, following which a comprehensive blueprint for coastal tourism development was prepared.

MLC Ivan D’Souza, MESCOM Chairman Harish Kumar, Coastal Development Authority Chairman M.A. Gafoor, Deputy Commissioner Darshan H.V., former MLA J.R. Lobo, KPCC General Secretary Inayath Ali and Tourism Department officials were present.
