Journalists’ association protests against assault on media by lawyers

Udupi, march 3, 2012 : The Udupi District Working Journalists’ Association organized a protest in front of Rajatadri, the DC’s office in Manipal against the assault on journalists near the Bangalore civil court on March 2 Friday.

 

 

 

 

 

Shouting slogans against the rowdy behaviour on the part of lawyers, the journalists organized a procession around the DC complex.

Kiran Manjanbail, the president of the association, and K. C. Rajesh Kundapura, the member of the association, spoke on the occasion, condemned the lawyers, and urged the state government to take action against them.

They also submitted a memorandum to the CM through Kumar, the additional DC, who said that he will fax it to the CM at the earliest.

Dinesh Kini, the national representative of the association; Jayakar Suvarna, the secretary of the association; Umesh Marpalli, the treasurer; Gokuldas Pai, the former president; and many other journalists also participated in the protest.
