Journalist accused of killing wife remanded to judicial custody till July 30

Mangalore, July 17, 2013: Gangadhar  Padubidri, a stringer working for Doordarshan who  has been arrested on the charges of murdering his wife, has been remanded to judicial custody till July 30.

Gangadhar  was produced before the JMFC II Court  on July 16, Tuesday. As already reported, Gangadhar had reportedly strangulated his wife Mamatha Shetty (32) after a  quarrel between the two when   Mamatha allegedly questioned his fidelity.

Police had found the body of Mamatha lying on the floor of the dining room of their house at Kodikal. The couple had a love marriage just three years ago. ACP Kavitha said Gangadhar has been booked under Section 302 of the IPC.
