Jewelry worth Rs. 10 lakh stolen from NRI’s house

Puttur, July 31, 2012 : A gang of theives broke into a house at Kundaje in Ramakunje, Puttur and stole jewelry worth Rs. 10 lakh.

Siddique, the owner of the house, is employed in Dubai and had come home five days back. He had visited his wife’s house in Kerala on Saturday and returned to his house in Kundaje on Sunday. On Sunday night, he visited his mother’s house in Golittadi and stayed there overnight.

Obviously, the theives noticed that the house was empty and broke open the lock on the front door. They have stolen around 49 soveriegns of gold stored in the cupboards.

When Siddique returned on Monday, he noticed that his house has been broken into and alerted the police. The theives had pulled out all the clothes from the cupboards and strew them all over the floor. In their hurry to get away, they had dropped a gold chain, which was found hidden in the clothes.
