Jeppu parish to hold second Inter Parish Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial singing competition

Mangalore, Nov 9, 2012 : Jeppu parish will organize the second edition Inter Parish Wilfy Rebimbus Memorial Konkani Singing Competition on Nov 11. This competition was initiated last year.

Fr. Nelson D’Almeida, parish priest of Jeppu, said that the response to the competition is quite high this year, with 15 parishes getting ready to take part. More than 60 participants will be fighting for the trophy.

The parish has appointed an organizing committee, which will select qualified judges to identify the best singers. The grand finale of the event will be held on the grounds of Jeppu Church on Nov 25.

The first round will begin at 2:45 p.m. in the Jeppu Seminary Hall. Among the judges are Meena Rebimbus, wife of the late Wilfy Rebimbus, Alwyn Noronha, and Fr. Pius James D’Souza.
