
Mangalore, Sep 14, 2013: Former Union Minister and Senior Congress leader B Janardhana Poojary inaugurated the All College Students Union 2013- 2014 held at Town Hall on Sep 14, Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that the students are the future of the country. Students go to colleges for educational purposes, increase their knowledge and learn discipline. He urged the students to respect their teachers and mother who shape their future.
Speaking on the Delhi rape and murder case, he said that the brave heart got the justice with the death sentence punishment to the four convicts just because of the continuous protests staged by the students.
Further this kind of assault on women must come to an end and students must fight against such incidents taking place in the society, since no one has power to fight against the students, he said.
The college students must stop ragging; instead they must conduct counseling to such students to avoid punishment, which will stop them from being employed in good companies in the future, he informed.
Today parliamentary is very necessary in the country; if parliament does not function properly, we will not get justice, he said.
Minister for Fisheries K Abhaychandra Jain said that students must feel proud to inaugurate students programme by the anti corrupt politician, who is having a sole aim of helping the poor.
He said that speaking about corruption is easy, but following it is difficult for many politicians, but Poojary has worked according to his speech.
Poojary also asked three general knowledge questions to the gathered students and rewarded them with Rs 500, Rs 1000 and Rs 1500 respectively.
Youth Congress president Mithun Rai welcomed gathering.
Congress leaders Ivan D’Souza, Praveenchandra Alva, Shashidhar Hegde, Corporators Rathikal, Abbas Ali and Kavitha and student leader Ashith Periera and Roopesh Rai were present on the dais.
