Mangalore, Mar 2, 2012: The Bhatkal based Jamia Islamia will organize a series of educational programs at the national as well as international levels as part of its 50th anniversary celebrations on March 18 – 21.
Maulana Syed Mohammed Rabey Husaini Nadvi, the patron of Jamia Islamia, Bhatkal and president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board (AIMPLB), will preside.
The event will also comprise an exhibition on Islam, Navayath culture, Quran, humanity, and contribution of Jamia graduates.
A number of dignitaries such as K. Rahman Khan, the deputy chairman; Shri Brahmananda Saraswati Swamiji of Dharmasthala Devara Gudde; Dr. Saeedur Rahman Azmi, the principal of Nadva University in Lucknow, and many others will participate in this convention.
The Jamia has 1110 students, 47 teachers, and 30 non-teaching staff members. The curriculum comprises religious subjects such as hadith and tafseer along with languages, geography, political science, history, math, and others. Most madrasas and maktabs in and around Bhatkal follow the same curriculum.
