JR Lobo files nomination as Congress candidate for Mangalore South

Mangalore, Apr 15, 2013: The Congress candidate from Mangalore South Legislative constituency JR Lobo filed his nomination  to the joint commissioner at the  Election office at MCC building here on April 15, Monday in the presence of several Congress leaders.

Earlier, Lobo and various other leaders arrived at the MCC building  on a padayatra. Prominent among those present were Ivan D’Souza, Ashraf, Suresh Ballal, PV Mohan and Naveen D’Souza.  


Prior to filing his nomination, JR Lobo even visited Kudroli Sri Gokarnanatha Temple and offered special prayers to Lord Gokarnanatha.


Congress candidate from Mangalore constituency and sitting MLA UT Khader who was also present,  said  the BJP which was given an opportunity to rule had misused power in the past five years. He also stated that there was a pro-Congress wave in the state as well as the district.


Ivan D’Souza who also spoke, said  people are fed up of infighting in the BJP and want the Congress come to power in the state. He said he has been appointed as Convenor of Election Committee for eight assembly constituencies in  the district.
