JJV condemns false allegations against Dr Heggade over Sowjanya case

Mangalore, Oct 22, 2013: Sadashiva Shetty, convener of Jana Jagruti Vedike condemns the act of defaming Dharmasthala Kshetra and its Dharmadhikari Dr Veerendra Heggade pertaining to Sowjanya rape and murder case.


Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 22, Tuesday he said that few individuals and associations are trying to defame Kshetra through the TV interview, which is far from truth; however the temple has not lost its identity.

He also said that the Vedike is ready to help Sowjanya’s family to investigate the case and find the real culprit, but allegations made against the innocent and reputed person is not accepted.


The person like Dr Veerendra Heggade has contributed a lot to the society. He has made an effort to develop Dharmasthala area in economic, social and educational fields and allegation against him hurts the feelings of his supporters and devotees. Further such kind of allegations will have an adverse affect towards the progress of the region, he said.


The Vedike will submit a memorandum to the CM, other cabinet ministers and higher police officials and urge them to hand over case to CBI probe to provide justice to Sowjanya’s family and free Dr Heggade from false allegations.
