Mangalore, Oct. 8, 2012: A JD(S) meeting held today in the office of the district JD(S) on Oct 8, Monday was fraught with heated arguments between the president of the District JD(S) and a member of the labour wing, regarding the issue of cancelling press meets.
Shashiraj Shetty, who joined the JD(S) with M. G. Hegde, was banned from the JD(S) just two days before H. D. Kumaraswamy visited Mangalore for the JD(S) convention and inducted Nagaraj Shetty into the JD(S) party.
According to JD(S) workers, senior JD(S) leaders such as Vasanth Poojary, Amarnath Shetty, and M. B. Sadashiva had stated that only press meets conducted under their leaderships were valid and that other JD(S) wings are not permitted to conduct press meets.
JD(S) State Vice President Sushil Noronha, JD (S) State Secretary M. G. Hegde, JD (S) Labour Wing President Mohammed Rafiq and others were also present.
