International Women’s Day celebrated at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy

Mangaluru, Mar 11, 2026: The International Women’s Day celebration was held on March 10 at K.S. Hegde Medical Academy with great enthusiasm and participation from students, faculty, and staff. The program was organized by the Internal Committee (POSH) of KSHEMA to promote awareness about women’s empowerment and safety.

The chief guest for the occasion was   Geetha Kulkarni, Assistant  Commissioner of Police, CCRB of the Mangalore Commissionerate. She delivered an informative talk focusing on cyber safety awareness, highlighting the increasing risks associated with misuse of social media and digital platforms. She spoke about cyberstalking, online fraud, identity theft, and emphasized the importance of safeguarding personal information online. She also encouraged students to stay vigilant and report cybercrimes promptly.

The event was graced by Dr. Sandeep Rai, Dean; Dr. Sukanya Shetty, Vice Dean of K S Hegde Medical Academy and Dr. Sumalatha Shetty, Medical Superintendent of Justice K.S. Hegde Charitable Hospital.

Around 300 delegates attended the function, making the event a grand success. The program concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, and participants for making the celebration meaningful and informative.
