International Literacy Day observed on September 8

Mangalore, Sep 9, 2012: The Taluk Panchayat, the Jana Shikshana Trust, Sugrama Sangha, and Apna Desh Nava Saakshakran jointly observed International Literacy Day on September 8.

The chief guest was MP Nalin Kumar Kateel.

In his address, the MP said that literacy is something to celebrate about, especially as the world now has close to 4 billion literate people. Simultaneously, he pointed out that literacy is still an unaccomplished goal. 

Dr. Vijayaprakash, DK ZP CEO; MLA U. T. Khader; Malleshappa, old age education officer, and many others were also present.
