Indigo introduces Mangaluru-Bengaluru additional flights from September 7

Mangaluru, September 4, 2023: Starting from September 7th, the coastal city of Mangaluru is set to enjoy improved air connectivity to Karnataka’s capital, Bengaluru. There will be an additional daily flight on weekdays and an extra flight on Saturdays.
This development will raise the number of daily flights from Mangaluru International Airport (MIA) to Bengaluru to five on weekdays and Sundays, and six on Saturdays. IndiGo will be operating these additional flights until October 28th. Currently, IndiGo operates four daily flights to Bengaluru from Mangaluru.
Beginning September 7th, IndiGo will reintroduce flight 6E 6858, adding a fifth daily flight on the Bengaluru-Mangaluru route. This flight will arrive in Mangaluru at 8.35 am and depart for Bengaluru as flight 6E 5347 at 9.10 am. This complements the existing flight options on this route, including departures to Patna via Bengaluru at 6.50 am (6E0255), Kolkata via Bengaluru at 11.35 am (6E0172), and direct flights to Bengaluru at 4.25 pm and 9.50 pm (6E0388/6E6859), respectively.
The addition of the sixth flight to Bengaluru on Saturdays results from IndiGo reorganizing the days and times of operation for its Mangaluru-Pune flight. On Tuesdays, Thursdays, Sundays, and Saturdays, flight 6E 294 will arrive in Mangaluru at 5.50 pm and depart for Pune as flight 6E 298 at 6.35 pm. On Saturdays, flight 6E 359 will arrive in Mangaluru from Bengaluru at 5.50 pm and later depart for Pune as flight 6E 298 at 6.35 pm.
These adjustments to flight schedules on the Mangaluru-Bengaluru and Mangaluru-Pune routes will increase daily international and domestic flight movements from 38 to 40 from Monday to Friday and from 40 to 42 on Saturdays and Sundays. The airport spokesperson mentioned that the airport is in discussions with other airlines to initiate flights to MIA, with expectations that these new flights will become operational in the winter schedule starting on October 29th.
