Mangaluru, Jun 30, 2026: The Indian Coast Guard successfully rescued six fishermen stranded in the Arabian Sea off the Mangaluru coast after their fishing boat was damaged in rough weather.
The incident occurred on Monday, June 29, when the fishing boat IFB Manju Matha was battered by high waves and turbulent sea conditions, causing water to enter the vessel. The crew immediately sent out a distress call seeking assistance.
Acting swiftly, the Indian Coast Guard dispatched its vessel ICGS Sachet to the location. Coast Guard personnel used remote-operated lifesaving devices, including lifebuoys, to safely rescue all six fishermen from the distressed boat.
According to Coast Guard officials, the rescued fishermen were brought ashore at the New Mangalore Port, where they underwent medical examination and treatment before being handed over to the local authorities.
