Puttur, Nov 25, 2025: A social media poster portraying Arun Kumar Puthila as an independent candidate for the 2028 elections has sparked discussions within BJP circles. Responding to the viral poster, Puthila said there was “nothing much to comment on,” noting that several political developments in the party in the past have stemmed from the expectations of party workers.

The poster has become a topic of conversation among BJP members in Puttur.

Puthila stated that if the Puttur rural and city mandals were merged and responsibilities assigned, he would be ready to take charge immediately. “I will ensure the BJP wins again in this constituency,” he said.

Addressing criticism from some BJP leaders who claimed he was unhappy with party decisions, Puthila clarified that no such opportunities had ever been discussed with him. “If they had, I would have accepted and continued to lead the party,” he said.

He added that senior state leaders had previously spoken about organisational responsibilities. “If you want clarity on the promises made, you should ask the district BJP president,” he remarked.

Puthila further said that if he were interested in pursuing powerful positions, his connections with national leaders in Delhi would have made it easy. “But I have never sought posts or power. I believe in working within the system,” he said.

Reflecting on the previous election, Puthila mentioned that he contested only because party workers felt their concerns were being overlooked. “Some elected representatives failed to understand the mindset of grassroots workers. Addressing workers’ expectations is a leader’s duty,” he said.
