What was also a crowd-puller were the pair of unusual bulls that were used to draw the chariot. This indegenous breed of bull called ’Kankrej’ is originally from the Gulf of Kutch. They are known for their massive curved horns, thick, fatty humps and large dewlaps. They are also prized for their immense strength and capacity for hard work.

The docile pair patiently pulled the chariot and frequently stopped for devotees as people showered the statue with flowers. They walked from the direction of Kudroli, passed through Car Street, wound their way through town and eventually headed off to Nanthoor.
