II PUC exams commence in twin districts

Mangalore, March 15, 2012 : The II PUC examinations commenced at examination centres all over Mangalore on March 15 Thursday. A total of 30,129 students from DK and 14,184 students from Udupi are answering their examinations, which will end on March 31.

The students will be answering their exams at 48 centres in DK and 25 in Udupi. A total of 25,736 students in DK and 12,005 in Udupi are answering their examinations for the first time. The others are either private or repeat candidates.

The PU education department has taken all the required measures to ensure that the PU examinations are held in the proper manner. Vigilance squads have been formed at the taluk and district levels by the PU education department while the deputy commissioner has appointed taluk and district level nodal officers. Besides, mobile squads have also been formed to supervise the examinations.

Section 144 has been imposed within a radius of 200m of each examination centres. Photocopiers operating within this radius are required to remain closed from 8:00 a.m. everyday till March 31.
